Where intuition is trustworthy
In domains that are regular and give fast, clear feedback — chess, firefighting, clinical pattern recognition. In noisy domains with delayed feedback, confident intuition tracks nothing but familiarity.
Phenomenology versus metaphysics
That an experience occurred, and was overwhelming, can be established. What caused it, and what it means about reality, is a separate claim requiring separate evidence. Denying the first is bad observation; assuming the second is bad inference.
The Dreamer's real job
Almost no important hypothesis arrives by deduction. Imagination, symbol and analogy generate candidates; testing decides among them. Remove the Dreamer and inquiry has nothing to test.
